Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies we use on CoreToolSpace, why we use them, and how you can control them. Our goal is to keep cookie use minimal so we can respect your privacy.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website to remember information between visits. This site also uses browser storage (localStorage), which is similar but stored on your own device and never sent to our servers.
2. Cookies we use
- Strictly necessary (essential) — required for security and core site functions, such as session handling. These cannot be disabled without affecting how the site works.
- Preference cookies — remember choices you make, such as light/dark theme. These are stored in your browser's localStorage.
- Analytics cookies — set by Google Analytics 4, which counts pageviews so we know which tools people use and where the site is slow. These are set as soon as a page loads. See section 5 for exactly what they are and how to opt out.
3. What analytics records, and what it never sees
We use Google Analytics 4. It sets two cookies named _ga and _ga_<ID>, which
contain a randomly generated client ID used to tell one visit from the next. They are set by Google, not by
us, and they are the only third-party cookies this site uses.
What that ID is not is a link to you. It is a string of random characters with no name, no email address and no account attached to it, and we never see an individual visitor profile — only aggregated totals. Google also truncates IP addresses before they are stored.
It is worth being precise about one thing, because most analytics copy is vague here: the client ID is a persistent cookie, so your visit is recorded across sessions and multiple sites that use the same Google property. It is a pseudonymous identifier, not anonymised data. It cannot reveal who you are on its own, but it is a cookie nonetheless, which is why section 5 explains how to switch it off.
Analytics cannot see what you type into a tool. Every text tool on this site — the counters, the JSON and CSV converters, the Base64 encoder — runs entirely in your browser. Your content is never sent to us, so it is never sent to Google either. Analytics records the page you opened, not its contents.
4. Analytics and consent
There is no consent banner on this site, and the analytics cookies described above are set as soon as a page loads rather than after you agree to them. We have made that choice deliberately: the tool itself never transmits your content, and the analytics data is used in aggregate only to decide which tools to improve. We are telling you plainly rather than describing it as consent-based, so you can decide for yourself whether that trade-off suits you.
If you would rather not be counted, the next section lists three ways to opt out, none of which cost you any feature. Blocking the cookies entirely leaves every tool working exactly as it does now.
5. How to opt out of analytics
You can stop the analytics cookies from being set at all:
- Block third-party cookies in your browser settings. This is the broadest option and also blocks any future third-party features. Every tool on this site continues to work.
- Block
googletagmanager.comspecifically, if your browser or an extension such as uBlock Origin lets you add a domain to the list. - Install Google's official opt-out browser extension — the Google Analytics extension from Google, available for Chrome, Firefox, Edge and Opera. It stops the measurement while leaving the rest of the page untouched.
Already had a visit recorded before blocking anything? Google honours the global opt-out, and the data in our reports is too aggregated to identify an individual visitor, so we have nothing to delete on request. If you want the record of a specific visit removed anyway, email [email protected] and we will action it.
6. Managing cookies
You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies.
- Firefox: Options → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions.
Blocking or deleting cookies may affect parts of the site (for example, your theme preference may reset).
7. Third-party services
We do not use advertising or social-media tracking cookies, and we do not run retargeting pixels. The analytics data is collected by Google as our analytics processor under a data-processing agreement; you can read what that involves in our Privacy Policy, which also covers how to exercise your data rights.
8. Changes & contact
We may update this policy from time to time. Questions can be sent to [email protected].
