Convert AVIF to JPEG Online

AVIF is the next-generation image format — beautifully small files with modern compression — but not everything can open it yet. This converter produces plain JPEG files that work everywhere: every browser 22+ years old or newer, every device, printer and photo editor. Uploaded files are deleted after conversion.

How It Works

Choose one or more AVIF images, pick a quality level, then press Run. Each image is decoded and re-encoded as JPEG, and when there are several files they are delivered as a single ZIP with each file keeping its original name.

Why Convert AVIF to JPEG?

AVIF compresses better than JPEG, so photos in AVIF are usually smaller. The trade-off is compatibility: JPEG is understood by every browser, operating system, printer and editing tool. Convert when you need a file to just open everywhere without questions.

File Size Note

JPEG is a lossy re-encode, so output files can be larger than the original AVIF and may carry slight quality loss from the second compression pass. The result panel reports the exact new size and how much changed.

Transparency Handling

JPEG does not support transparent pixels. Where an AVIF has a transparent background, it is composited onto white so your subject stays visible against a clean, neutral canvas.

Privacy & Security

Files are processed on our server only to create your result and are deleted afterwards. Download links expire automatically and nothing is shared or sold.

Free & Unlimited

No sign-up, no watermarks and no daily limits. Convert as many AVIF images as you need.

Frequently asked questions

How many AVIF files can I convert at once?

Up to 10 images per run, as long as their combined size stays within the upload limit. All JPEG results are packed into one ZIP download.

Why is the JPEG bigger than my AVIF?

AVIF is designed to compress harder than JPEG, and JPEG is a lossy format, so a JPEG of the same image is usually larger. That is the price of universal compatibility.

What happens to transparent areas?

JPEG has no alpha channel, so transparent pixels are flattened onto a white background. The rest of the image is unchanged.

Do you keep my files?

No. Uploads are deleted after processing and every download link expires automatically.
