The strongest colors are listed first with their share of the image.

Your picture is analyzed on the server and then discarded — nothing is stored. Fully transparent areas are ignored and partially transparent pixels are weighted by how visible they are.

Image Color Palette Extractor Online

Upload an image and pull out its dominant colors as a ready-to-use HEX palette with the share each color covers.

Pull a Color Palette From Any Image

Upload a photo, illustration or screenshot and get its dominant colors as a ranked HEX palette. Each color is shown with the share of the image it covers, so you can see at a glance which tones define the picture.

How It Works

Choose an image, decide how many colors you want — anywhere from 2 to 16 — and press Run. The image is downscaled to a small sampling canvas, its pixels are grouped into color families, and the heaviest families are averaged back into real HEX colors with their percentage of the visible image.

Accurate on Transparent Images

Fully transparent pixels are skipped instead of being counted as black, and partially transparent pixels are weighted by how visible they actually are. A logo on a transparent background therefore reports the colors of the logo, not the empty space around it.

Sized For Speed and Accuracy

Rather than reading every pixel of a huge photo, the tool samples a fixed-size version of it. That keeps results fast and consistent across devices while still reflecting the real color balance of the image.

Copy the Palette Instantly

Each swatch is click-to-copy, and the Copy palette button puts the entire list on your clipboard as plain HEX values — ready to paste into CSS, Figma, Tailwind or a design system.

Supported Formats

JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF and BMP files are supported. The image is processed on the server only to build the palette and is never stored as a design file or shared with anyone.

Frequently asked questions

Which image formats can I use?

JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF and BMP. Very large images are capped for safety, so resize anything above the megapixel limit first.

How many colors can I extract at once?

Between 2 and 16 per run. Six is a good default for a balanced palette; fewer is useful for a simple brand scheme.

What does the unique colors count mean?

It is the number of distinct colors found in the sampled version of your image — not the total in the original file. It tells you how varied the image is.

Are transparent areas counted?

No. Fully transparent pixels are ignored, and partially transparent ones contribute only in proportion to how visible they are.

Is my image uploaded anywhere permanently?

The file is only processed to compute the palette and is not kept or shared. Delete your uploads from the tool whenever you like.

Can I use the colors commercially?

The HEX values are just numbers — you can use them freely in your own work. Always double-check the licensing of the source image itself before publishing it.
