PDF to Word Online

Turn a PDF into a real, editable .docx file you can open and rewrite in Word, Docs or Pages.

Convert PDF to an Editable Word Document

Stop retyping. Upload a PDF and download a real Word file where the text is genuinely editable — change a line, delete a paragraph, or carry the whole document into an essay without fighting an image of a page.

How to Use

Click the upload area to choose a PDF (or drag one onto it) and press Run. Once the conversion finishes, press the download button to save the .docx file, then open it in Word, Google Docs, Apple Pages or LibreOffice.

A Real Word File

The result is a genuine Office Open XML document — the same format Word itself saves — not an HTML page wearing a .doc extension. That means it opens cleanly with no encoding warning, the text is selectable and searchable, and your word processor can track changes and comments in it.

Page Breaks Are Kept

Wherever the PDF started a new page, a page break is inserted so the Word file follows the structure of the original document. Long documents therefore stay readable instead of collapsing into one continuous wall of text.

What About the Layout?

The page is rebuilt rather than photographed, so headings, paragraphs and lists come through cleanly. Complex multi-column layouts, precise table grids and exotic fonts can shift a little, and exact positioning is not preserved. A quick skim of the first page after converting is always worth it.

Scanned Pages

Text can only be converted if it exists in the file. A scanned or photographed PDF is an image, so its pages arrive in the Word document empty. Run those through OCR first, then convert the result.

Privacy & Security

Your PDF is uploaded to our server only to build the Word file and is deleted after processing. Download links expire automatically and your document is never shared or stored long-term.

Free & Unlimited

No account, no watermarks and no daily limits. Convert as many documents as you need.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need Microsoft Word to use the file?

No. The download is a standard .docx, which opens in Microsoft Word, Google Docs, Apple Pages, LibreOffice and most other word processors.

Is the text editable afterwards?

Yes — that is the point of the conversion. The words become normal, selectable paragraphs, so you can rewrite, restyle or delete any part of the document.

Will it look exactly like the original PDF?

The text and page breaks are carried over, but the page is rebuilt rather than copied, so intricate tables, multi-column layouts and unusual fonts can shift slightly. Complex text is preserved; pixel-perfect design is not.

My PDF is a scan and the Word file is empty. Why?

A scan is an image of a page, so it contains no text to convert. You need OCR to recognise the text first, and can then convert the result.

How long does the conversion take?

Usually a couple of seconds. Very large or long documents take a little longer.

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?

Temporarily, yes — the document has to be converted somewhere. The working copy is deleted immediately after processing and download links expire automatically.
